What We Offer

Individual Therapy Sessions

Our individual therapy sessions provide a confidential and supportive space to develop practical skills for managing emotions, navigating relationships, and responding more effectively to life’s challenges. Our approach is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidence-based treatment designed to help you build emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness skills.

Each session is tailored to your individual needs and goals, with a focus on helping you better understand patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing tools that support lasting change. Our therapists work collaboratively with clients ages 10 and up to create a safe, inclusive, and nonjudgmental environment for individuals from all backgrounds.

Our team provides DBT-focused support for a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety & Panic Disorders

  • Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar, etc.)

  • Substance Use & Addiction

  • LGBTQIA+ Affirming Care

  • Trauma & PTSD

Our couples and family therapy sessions provide a supportive and structured space for partners and family members to strengthen their relationships, improve communication, and navigate challenges together. Grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), sessions focus on building practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Our therapists help couples and families identify patterns that may contribute to conflict, practice healthier ways of communicating, and develop effective strategies for managing difficult emotions and interactions. Sessions are tailored to each relationship’s unique needs, goals, and dynamics while maintaining a collaborative and respectful environment.

We welcome couples and families of all backgrounds, identities, and stages of relationship. Our goal is to help each person feel heard and supported while developing the skills needed to create healthier, more effective, and more connected relationships.

Even the strongest relationships need support—your path forward starts here.

Adult and Teen DBT Skills Classes

Our DBT Skills Classes offer a structured, supportive space to build practical tools for managing emotions, relationships, and daily stress. Led Jada Helmer, LMHC, DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician™ and co-led by by Paige Stabile-Dunnigan, a RMHCI with intense DBT Training, this group teaches the four core modules of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.

DBT Skills Classes are not process groups. These are classes designed to teach you skills to troubleshoot problem behaviors and get to a life worth living. Class members will learn and practice DBT skills alongside others working toward greater emotional stability and resilience. These classes are ideal for individuals seeking skills-based support in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

A DBT screening is required prior to joining the classes and can be scheduled using our Book Now link.

We offer evaluation services for individuals referred by the Northeast Florida Safety Council (NEFSC) following a DUI, DWI, or drug-related charge. This evaluation helps determine the appropriate level of care—whether that’s education, counseling, or psychotherapy—based on each individual’s specific needs and circumstances.

All referrals must be received directly from NEFSC before we can schedule your initial appointment. Once the referral is received, a member of our team will contact you to begin the process.

To have NEFSC send us your referral, please ask them to fax your paperwork to (904) 209-6843. If you have questions or need assistance, feel free to call us at (904) 494-8243 or email info@jks-counseling.com.
